Well it’s been nealy a week, was a bit lazy uploading  pictures of the food I had over the last week-end in HK

Last Saturday afternoon had  a HK style tea set as a brunch at the Hokkaido Dairy Farm Milk Restaurant at CWB.  Their  scramble eggs, Omellette are cooked in mix with  the Hokkaido Milk, frankly it’s no difference with cooking with other normal milk, though it does help to enchace the flavour of the eggs.

And at this shop you will experience  the typical, rude service from the young people of HK. They seem lke they so don’t want to serve you….hahahahaha.  Luckily I was warned by the HK online dining guide the Openrice

Macaroni with BBQ pork(Char-Siu) in soup           Scramble egg and ham with toast

    3 inches Egg sandwich

At night had a very simple dinner at the Hakka Ye Ye a kind of private kitchen for some Hakka cusine. though I didn’t order the Baked Salted Chicken…. the place is quite comfortable to dine the server at least show that they are willing to work. food though ordinary, is nicely done

another signature Hakka dish  – Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetatble

White and Brown rice , Stir-fried Bitter Melon with egg white

    Stuffed Tofu with minced pork,

Emperor Chicken – Steam Chicken topped with Shredded Ginger and Green Onion

Dessert at Portabello ( a member of the Staunton’s group  which has a couple of restaurants around  Soho area)

  • Fusion Vietnamese/Thai

had this fusion Vietnamese/Thai food at Nahm  which is at the Elements Mall in HongKong..This is my 2nd visit to this place within 2 years, the food is still good while  the service is somehwere hit and miss, but for sure, you will be better served when speaking in English and have some kinds of preference if you are not locals (are we still living  at the Pre-97 era?)

My friend and I had the Hanoi Lunch set for two at HKD88/person + service charges, first came the

Spicy Shredded Chicken with Banana Bud, Crushed Peanut and Mint – the Salad, actually you can taste even more flavour , you name it, you have it….coconut, basil, lemon juice………..

    IMG_0277

The appertizer and the main came together…..so our tiny table was quite packed…..

Roasted Pork Rib with garlic noodle and Spring Onion Chilli Sauce the Main, the texture of the pork rib is tender and remember to mix the sauces and noodle well before you eat, otherwise you will think that the sauce is over power….

    IMG_0280

we ordered this exotics Rambutan iced drinks, the green was the ice with mint flavour

    IMG_0283

Seaweed coconut lime rice roll with crispy sole and shallot – the appertizer ..remember this is not a sushi dish otherwise you will be disappointed. this  rice roll was served warm  with the green salad…

    IMGP4786

I think the train take me back to Richmond reasonably fast in about 15 mins even faster than I drive during rush hours…..of course like other train systems I need to walk to and from the stations….

    IMGP4789

Trainis approaching, please stand behind the yellow line…………rememebr the annoucement from the HK MTR?

     IMGP4792

    Inside the train…..

Frankly I haven’t been to the Vancouver downtown that  frequent  since 1)  I don’t like driving, 2) lots of restriction on driving within the tiny downtown area, 3) expensive for parking, However with the new train system I think  it will change….
