Contemporary Chinese Cuisine
Went to a Chinese Restaurant on Sun nite for a friend’s Birthday Dinner, and the place is called Hakkasan, at first I thought it’s a branch of aonther famous Hakkasan Chinese Restaurnat from London UK, eventually they are different….
This Hakkasan serving what they call themselves Contempoary Chinese Cusine, which sounds very interesting. The setting of the dining room is modern, western, they serve wine, alcohol drinks, fine coffee to all kinds of chinese tea. Table setting is East meets West i.e. Forks and Knives and Chopsticks. And the Jazz music accompany our dinner throughout
We took the 8 courses tasting menu. Most of the courses are being served individually with a couple of them served on the traditional way a larger plate to share…The food are very good both in taste and presentation the service is effecient, attentive, overall a nice experience..
Stuffed Whelk w/ Curried Seafood
Quail and Fungus in Young Coconut
Lobster w/ special garlic sauce
Hakka Shreded Salty Chicken
Grilled Eel and Egg Tofu
Hakka Fried Rice and the Mango Pudding

Thanks Giving 2008
It’s Oct already! 2008 is approaching to the end…….this week is also the traditioanl Thanks Giving in Canada.
Everyday there are good and bad things happening, looking back this year my personal life been doing ok, Happy and Healthy, in April I had my own concert with my friends in HongKong, at work everything been going smoothly…however if I look further what has happened so far to the world, as usual it doesn’t look that good as we expect…China been challenged by the mother nature with earthquakes, snowstorms, Burma been attacked by the Tropical storm, and just a couple of weeks ago the world biggest Financial Citiy New York been hit by the Financial Tsunami and is still spreading out…to Europe, Austrliasia, Asia…..
Of course we cannot foresee everything, but we can gather with our beloved family, even friends to appreciated what we have right now with a thanksgiving dinner

Operating a New HKG Pattern
Finally I had my new HKG pattern operated last week…thought it’s still a 5 days pattern, I did enjoy 9+ more hours in HKG. Leaving Vancouver as before around 0300 and arrive HKG early in the morning around 0700, 2 nights layover and now we report to work at night around 2300 rather than 1340 in the afternoon as before which means we have extra 9+ hours! The extra hours help me to have more chances to meet up with friends and more ample time to enjoy. And the flight leaving at mid-night and arrrive Vancouver at night 1 day behind.
It’s also the first time for me to operate the B777ER aircraft…..it’s as long as the B777-300 but has a longer range with the help of the most powerful Engines todate..The GE90,
actually you can really feel the power when the aircraft takes off and overall the flight was smooth except working at the aft area(i.e the tail) will be a bit bumpy just like an airbus, and as per others’ comments the crew bunk is also the best among all aircraft types so far: spaceous, private…..The new AirShow system itself is also a nice entertainment with the 3D animation graphics…
