A week-end in Cebu
After 3 months of non-stop working, it’s time to have a ‘Spring-Break’ and I choose Cebu, Philippines as my week-end destination.
Cebu the 2nd large city of the Philippines, is located further south of the Manila which flying from HKG it takes another 30 minutes more, and flying on a LCC Cebu Pacific, I guess it’s the maximum for me…..I can imagine how bad it will be if you fly over 5 hours with an approx 30″ seat pitch, no recline funtion…
Woke up on Friday morning had my typical Pinoy breakfast, pancit(fried noodle), Corned beef, garlic rice and of course a sunny side up……and a bowel of sinigang na hipon (Shrimp In Tamarind Soup)
It was rainy both in Vancouver and Hong Kong , so the Sun and the hot weather is a bliss!
Some cultural dance ….
The next day had a city tour, and the Chinese Temple is located at the prestigious residential area over looking the city of Cebu
Then to the Heritage of Cebu Monument and touring an old house which was built about 300 years ago
Inside the house found this delivery chair……, at the Magellan’s Cross some ladies will sing/dance/pray for you once you paid for the candles which they would nlight it up for you afterwards…..
Inside the Bacilica Minore de Santo Nino the current structure was built around 1740, they have kept the oldest El Nino statue which to be told was brought by the Magellan as a gift to the King and Queen…And the final stop was the Fort San Pedro which was built in a triangle shape by the Spanish protect themselves from the locals around 1565
Pinoy food hopping a the Ayala Center( a shopping mall)
