This is a very disingenuous and dangerous reporting job. The strory presents no evidence at all, nor anyone with any expert knowledge, to tie the flu shot to her condition. If, ten days after the flu shot, she suddenly won the lottery, would we credit the flu shot with that? There is a big difference between correlation and causation and the media is doing a poor job of explaining this.
Given that your job puts you in close quarters with thousands of different people during the month and working in an airplane cabin across different time zones can compromise your immunity, I would strongly encourage you to get better information before making a decision not to get a flu shot.
@christao408 - tat’s ok chris, Frankly I always have some kinds of reservation towards the western medication, because every now and then, lots of the government approved medication will have problem be discovered and have to be banned by the authority, it’s kind of disappointing..
anyway for the past 30 years I have never had one flu shot, and when SARS and H1N1 was at their peak in 2003 and last Spring , my strategy is very simple , have a balance diet, exercise regualrly, sleep whenever possible(due to my job nature this is very important to recover from fatigue )and last but not least…a good personal hygine so far it works, of cos there is nothing can be gauranteed in this world just like what I’ve said, I will one day take those medication though un- willingly, If I have a choice I will stay away whenever possible..
But for those with low immune system like elderly , young children, and those women in pregnancy, long term sickness, these vaccines maybe a better option for them .
I think we are on a similar wavelength! :0)
@CurryPuffy - anyway just take care of ourselves and be healthy!
