  • Had a new kind of Mango cake last week, from the bakery shop it’s named Mango Layer Cake, it’s actually a cake with  layers of crepes,  creme and diced mangoes on a sponge cake as a base….a very creamy dessert which I at the end left the creme and crepes aside.

Went to Red Robin for a burger dinner on Mon night, it’s the 2nd time for me over the 13 years living in Vancouver..why? Though they have about 15 location throughout British Columbia, none of it is located around Richmond area…..what a pity….since they offer nice burgers….

  • Every so often, I crave a hamburger.  We actually have one Triple-O by White Spot here in Bangkok, the owner is a Hong Kong – Canadian Chinese guy, I believe.  They don’t get much business but every few months I will stop by for a burger.

That mango layer cake looks a bit overwhelming!

  • That mango cake looks very sinful… mmm.

  • the mango layer cake is very inviting. where in Vancouver I can order it?

  • Interesting mango ‘layered’ cake. I’ll sure share this with someone, too rich to eat the whole thing! As for ‘Red Robin’, there are many locations here in LA.

  • @christao408 - @CurryPuffy - hahaha I do love burgers specially those gourmet ones…..

@stevew918 - @ElusiveWords -  oh yes….I think I need to swim a few more rounds to burn off the extra fat from the tiny piece of it, and the baker shop is called La Patisserie 金磨坊  quite famous with the local Chinese

  • Ref the Mango Layer Cake. Is this a Hong Kong cake? I would love the address of the cake shop please if it’s in HK. Regards!

  • @HKkiwi -

Too bad it’s from a Vancouver bakery, but I’ve been thinking if they actually copies from HK

  • Thanks for the reply! I’ve lived in HK for 20 years and for about 10 of those we had this great mango layer cake. Everyone that we introduced it to loved the cake. It was made by Kamboat cake shops but they have all closed and for about 5 years now we have been in withdrawal. Regards HKkiwi.
