On Thursday 26MAR before operating the flight back to Vancouver, Had an afternoon tea at the lobby lounge of the InterContinental Hotel HK, I was here over a year ago for their tasty French Burger( a Burger with pan fired foi gras , sundreied tomatoes, and truffles whcih is still my favourite Burger!)and thier silver ware and 5 star service, my tea cup was automatically refill througout. The Highlight this time of course is the tea. The tea leaves they currently using on their Menu is from France Mariage Frere and the flavour I choose was Marco Polo with the Flavour of fruits and flowers of China and Tibet. The flavour was so good that it could last till my very last cup which was 3 1/2 hours later with numerous of hot water refills it was such a delight!

Very nice to have several days to play tourist again in HK. The food, the flower show, nice! Fake shark’s fin, and small cart noodle, bring back fond memory. If there is a chance, I will try “This is not Burger King” place, and Marco Polo tea. The desert pictures make my mouth water, yummy.
I didn’t know that HK had a flower show now. You’re also quite observant, I didn’t even notice that sign when I was eating in Shake ‘em Buns myself!
Shake ‘em Buns looks great. I love the sign in the first picture. Will have to make a note of it and try it next time we’re there.
As for the tea in the IC Hotel, it looks lovely. Mariage Frere Marco Polo is our “tea of choice” here in the Chris and Tawn household. We find it horribly overpriced here in Thailand (have to buy from the Oriental Shoppe at the Oriental Hotel, still pricey but not quite so bad at Marks & Spencer in HK, but reasonably priced when we’re in Paris.
You know, next time we are in Hong Kong we should try to coordinate schedules and meet up.
@christao408 - how nice the Mariage Frere is one of your household items
…I”m sure it’s pricey since being imported … right we should try to coordinate to meet up in HK
You’ve a sharp eye noticing that sign on the wall, so hilarious! Next time when I’m in HK, gotta have high tea at IC Hotel.
Sometimes, it’s good to have business training/classes at a ‘tourist friendly’ city like HK, so many good restaurants and places to visit!
@stevew918 - @ekin - haha becos that sat evening….the place was quite empty….so just browsing around every corner of the place while waiting for our burgers and spotted that sign …
The flower show if my memory is right it’s been there for some time , usually in March evey year they’ll have it at the Victoria Park
@curry69curry - I truely appreciate my “Paid Holiday”…..hahahaha
I remember traveling to HKG years ago and my uncle treated me to afternoon tea at one of the hotels. I must say it’s a very enjoyable experience.
@ElusiveWords - it’s a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon…….and do some chit-chat…
