  • Seoul South Korea

Had a great week-end break in Seoul South Korea, and yes I flew all the way from Vancouver just for a week-end, because I had only 7 days break while non of the airlines offering daily non-stop service bewteen the 2 cities and I don’t want to fly all the way to HK just to make the connection therefore I have to make some adjustments.  Alwin also managed to arrange a week-end off to join me in Seoul from Hong Kong..

To start off my week-end break I once again chose the Legendary Singapore Airlines which truely can provide an Inflight Service even other Airlines( in this case i.e. me) talk about, Sumptuous Meal, good seat(nice leg room, real lumper support), decent inflight entertainment, and most important very professional cabin crew offering very high level of service Consistently and on this trip…SQ  Girls and  Boys once again live up to what their company claim…..

Seoul….a city I have never been to even when I was living in Hong Kong …..strange…but please don’t ask me why…..anyway sinceIonly have a full 2 2/1 days there, my schedule was quite packed…….

The first day we left the hotel around 1030, had a quick light breakfast at a nearby local cafe, we headed to Gyeongbokgung a old Emperor Palace at the City centre.

The next day been to Itawon where you can find lots of westerners there because it’s near to the ex- American Military Base and  The Ambasador/Consulate area

Finally to the Lotte World a Theme Park just like a mini Disneyland with  out-door and indoor area.

the last day before heading to the airport, did the last minute shopping around Gangnam area where the hotel is loacted..and surprised to find out the there are tons of restaurnats offering worldwide cusine….and eventually spotted a car accident luckily not too serious only vehicle damages….

For me touring in Seoul just like touring to my favourite city Tokyo, a comprehensive underground/subway system you can easily explore the city without much difficulties. Food is good as long as you like chilli/spicy food and you are not a Meat lover,  since most of their food are prepared with more vegetable than meat( maybe this is one of the reasons the majority of them have a slimmer figure) and of course Shoppings…

I have also observed a couple of interesting things among  the people there. Remember  these are my observation only…..I don’t mean to say it is  either right or wrong……

They will queue/line up for bus, train…etc patiently But they will push once they move

They keep their public wash room clean and tidy But they(mostly older guys) spit everywhere on the street

The female mostly well-groomed and love wearing make-up But they speak very directly and loudly.

Once in a train the female tends to sit on one side while the guys on the opposite

  • SQ is a great airline and if they had a premium economy product I would probably fly them.  However, BR gives me better leg room and pretty decent service.

Seoul is a fun city; glad you had the opportunity to visit.  I haven’t been there in autumn but think that would be a beautiful time to go.
